Optical Frequency Comb

To reduce microwave noise using EO comb, broadening the comb bandwidth and shortening the optical path length are necessary. While Si modulators are useful in the aforementioned approach, they face challenges in modulation efficiency. Against this backdrop, a multi-stage configuration using a fiber array was implemented, enabling the generation of short pulses in the 1 ps range with the constructed multi-stage Si modulator. This result paves the way for further noise reduction using EO coms and on-chip short-pulse light generation.
