[18a-WL1_201-5]RuO2 coating on stainless by PCSD for PEFC separator

Toward application in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell separators, ruthenium oxide was coated onto stainless steel (SUS) using a photo-assisted chemical solution method. Laser irradiation enabled RuO2 formation without oxidizing the SUS substrate. Contact resistance with carbon fibers was 1.7 mohm·cm2, and after corrosion resistance testing, it remained at 4.5 mohm·cm2, demonstrating practical performance.
