CdSe/CdS quantum dots in rods exhibit linearly polarized luminescence with an azimuth angle along the rod axis, but typical colloids and thin films contain randomly oriented rods, resulting in unpolarized luminescence as a whole system. In this study, we fabricated a linearly polarized luminescence device by orienting the long axis direction of the rods using interactions with stripe-type surface microstructures. Detailed polarized luminescence properties were evaluated using a fluorescence polarization microscope, demonstrating that linearly polarized luminescence devices can be fabricated using a simple method.
