The 134th Congress of the Japanese Society of Animal Science (JSAS) will take place from September 15 to 18, 2026, with Faculty of Agriculture, University of Miyazaki, and the Miyazaki Kanko Hotel serving as the venues. It has been nearly 30 years since the Society last met at our university, following the 90th Congress in 1995, and we are truly honored to welcome our members back to Miyazaki once again.

The program of this meeting will include general presentations (face-to-face oral presentations only) and presentations that apply for the Best Presentation Award. In addition, there will be a public symposium and various luncheon seminars.
We are working diligently to ensure that this meeting will provide a valuable forum where leading experts from academia, industry, and government can gather to share the latest research findings and engage in in-depth discussions on the furure development of animal science and the livestock industry.

The public symposium, titled ”Japanese Food Culture to the World and the Future: Technological Innovations Supporting the Wagyu Brand from Feed production to the Dining Table, ” will be held in Miyazaki, a major center of Wagyu production. Through this symposium, we aim to disseminate perspectives on sustainable livestock production. We hope this event will offer an opportunity not only for researchers and students, but also for policymakers and producers to share the latest knowledge and insights.

In mid-September, Miyazaki still enjoys its characteristic subtropical sunshine during the day, while refreshing autumn breezes in the mornings and evenings make it a particularly pleasant season. In addition to lively discussions on the verdant Kibana Campus, we hope participantes will enjoy local cuisine at the networking reception and deepen personal exchanges that are only possible through face-to-face interaction.
