昭和世代から比べると子供たちの体力レベルは低水準であり、さらに体力の二極化が鮮明になり運動が苦手な子供が増加しているにも関わらず、学習指導要領の目指す動きや内容は、実情に合っていないこともあり、学校現場での子供の現状と指導要領の目指す姿を整理し、そのギャップに対応する今後の方針を他分野の専門的見解も交えながら論究する。
