あきらめていた「行きたい」を叶える外出・旅行支援 ―終末期における実践と可能性―

治療の選択肢が尽き、「これ以上の治療は行わない方がよい」と告げられたとき、患者は初めて死を現実のものとして意識する。その一方で、病気は治らなくても「好きな場所に行きたい」「最期まで自分でトイレに行きたい」「少しでも楽しく食べたい」といった、生活の中での希望に気づくことが多い。しかし、それらが本当に実現可能なのか、患者・家族のみならず医療者にとっても判断が難しい場面は少なくない。<br>本セッションでは、終末期においても患者の QOL を維持・向上させることを目指し、「生きる営み」を守るための実践に取り組んできた緩和ケア領域の実践者による活動報告を行う。<br>従来であれば困難と考えられていた状況においてどのような工夫ができるのか、医療者はどこまで関われるのか、何を大切にすべきなのか。本セッションを通じて、終末期医療における QOL 支援の可能性と今後の課題について参加者とともに考察したい。
