Impact of the Perinatal Environment on the Next Generation

It has been fifteen years since the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) theory was proposed, which states that an adverse environment in early development influences future health and disease risk. Epidemiological and animal studies have shown that adverse environments affect not only the individuals exposed to them, but also their offspring.This symposium will bring together researchers from a variety of fields to discuss mechanisms of intergenerational transmission of environmental disease risk.<br>
