[3LS02]The Future of Neuroscience Forged by Academia-Industry Collaboration: From Basic Research to Drug Discovery

Sat. Aug 1, 2026 12:00 PM - 12:50 PM JST
Sat. Aug 1, 2026 3:00 AM - 3:50 AM UTC
Room 2 (International Conference)
Moderators: Hiroyuki Kamiguchi (RIKEN Center for Brain Science), Hiroshi Takemoto (Hokkaido University Hospital HELIOS)
Co-hosted by AMED Brain/MINDS 2.0, Nippon Boehringer Ingelheim Co.,Ltd.
Japan’s Brain/MINDS 2.0 program produces world-class basic research. To translate these scientific breakthroughs into clinical applications and societal benefit, collaboration with the industry is essential. However, a gap remains between academia and industry regarding the "goals" of research and the frameworks of “partnership”. This seminar offers insights into the corporate perspectives and the realities of strategic partnering. Through discussion with researchers, we aim to deepen mutual understanding and explore new possibilities for the "social implementation" of cutting-edge neuroscience.
