The human transporter, which has about 5-600 species, is the last research frontier as a drug discovery resource left for humankind. Although many of the technical problems unique to transporters had hindered development, these have already been solved, and a system for measuring the transport function of any transporter and a high-throughput screening system for substances that specifically bind to the transporter are now in practical use. Thus, it can be said that transporter-targeted drug discovery has finally reached its development stage after a long period of stagnation. In light of this situation, this symposium will provide a scientific basis (software) and transporter analysis of "why transporter inhibitors (activators) become drugs", which is essential in promoting transporter drug discovery. Recent achievements in both technical progress (hardware) are also presented. We would like to draw a real image of transporter drug discovery and discuss the future image.
