[GS05]Nothing seek, nothing find. --Where is molecular imaging heading?--

Mon. Mar 29, 2021 1:15 PM - 3:15 PM JST
Mon. Mar 29, 2021 4:15 AM - 6:15 AM UTC
[Room E] Oral Presentation E Online
Organizer: Nakajima Kohei (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Hokkaido Univ.), Kaide Sho (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Kyoto Univ.)
Molecular imaging is a technique to visualize, characterize and quantify in vivo biological processes of biomolecules such as proteins. For example, SPECT and PET have long been used in both basic and clinical studies for analysis of human body and diagnosis. In addition, new techniques including fluorescence imaging and photoacoustic imaging have advanced over the past 20 years in the field of molecular imaging. And recently, the concept of theranostics which integrates diagnosis (imaging) and therapeutics has emerged.
In this symposium, researchers at the forefront will present the current state of research in molecular imaging methods using fluorescence, photoacoustic waves, and ionizing radiation, and in photo-/radio-theranostics. Also, the symposiasts will introduce their research for developing diagnostic and/or therapeutic methods and understanding biological processes in the human body. We hope that contemplating the future trends in the field of molecular imaging at this opportunity will lead to a variety of the future in the coming decades.
