Mitochondrial unfolded stress response in adipose tissue as a novel therapeutic target for endotoxin-induced sepsis

Recent advances in molecular biology and genetics have highlighted that structural and functional disruptions of organelles—such as mitochondria, lysosomes, the endoplasmic reticulum, and their interactions with the plasma membrane—contribute to a wide range of diseases, including neurodegeneration, cardiovascular dysfunction, metabolic disorders, and immune dysregulation. Increasing attention is also being paid to inter-organelle communication as a key factor in maintaining cellular homeostasis. This symposium aims to promote cross-cutting insights beyond isolated pathologies. It seeks to advance understanding of intracellular processes, encourage new research in this exciting field, and foster the development of future diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
