Tue. Mar 10, 2026 11:50 PM - 1:40 AM UTC
Room 3(School of Nursing Building, 2F, 201)
Organizers/Chairs: Takahiro Nemoto (Nippon Medical School), Miyako Tanaka (Nagoya University)
It has become clear that adipose tissue is composed of many cells, not just adipocytes and adipocyte precursor cells, and that there is also diversity in the population of adipocytes, as single-cell analysis of adipose tissue has become possible. Adipocytes are not just stores of triglyceride, but also play various roles, such as secreting hormones and being involved in immunity. In this symposium, we call this diversity of adipose cell populations and the diversity of adipose cell functions "adipodeversity". We would like to discuss new physiological functions of adipose tissue, their control, and crosstalk with other organs.
