Recent innovations in molecular biology and morphological technologies have greatly improved our understanding of childhood-onset cardiovascular diseases. However, many of these conditions remain difficult to treat, and effective preventive strategies are still lacking. Importantly, cardiac structure and hemodynamics evolve markedly from the fetal stage through perinatal adaptation to childhood maturation, layering profound developmental complexity. Therefore, our joint symposium will explore cardiovascular diseases from a multifaceted perspective, integrating physiological insights alongside conventional approaches. Our goal is to create a dynamic and inspiring forum where cutting-edge researchers from the Japanese Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery and the Japanese Physiological Society come together to stimulate new ideas, deepen our understanding of cardiovascular diseases, and drive innovative treatments and prevention strategies.
