Generative AI is rapidly spreading as a technology for creating text, images, programs, and music. However, non-specialist users and school-age learners may hesitate to use it because of limited understanding and anxiety about its operation. This study analyzes AI acceptance and participant responses in a generative AI education practice conducted in Abashiri City for elementary and junior high school students and general participants. The course introduced generative AI as “AI that creates” and included hands-on activities using Google Gemini to generate HTML applications and a music generation AI system to create an “Abashiri song.” An 11-item five-point questionnaire was conducted after the course. The average score was 4.15 for general participants and 4.41 for elementary and junior high school participants. Positive response rates were 79.6% and 83.3%, respectively. These results suggest that creating artifacts through interaction with AI may help participants understand generative AI as a familiar creative support tool.
