The 4.85 GHz band falls within the 4.8~4.9 GHz band used for Japan’s Local 5G (L5G) and
is intended for use in building wireless networks
in limited areas such as factories and offices. On the other hand, in indoor
non-line-of-sight (NLoS) environments,
reception power decreases due to the effects of obstructions,
making it challenging to ensure stable coverage. To address these challenges, metasurfaces (MTS) that can control the direction of reflection
are expected to serve as a means of extending coverage
in NLoS environments. In this
paper, we used an MTS for the 4.85 GHz band
fabricated in previous research and verified its effectiveness in improving coverage
through experimental measurements.
