In 3D human localization using Wi-Fi CSI, this paper proposes a method that complementarily integrates the characteristics of the 2.4 GHz band, which is advantageous for direction estimation but disadvantageous for distance estimation, and the 5 GHz band, which excels in distance estimation but is prone to virtual images. To avoid the effects of phase errors caused by asynchronous transmitting and receiving stations, the proposed method extracts micro-Doppler components from the squared amplitude of CSI and estimates 3D coordinates by integrating the Capon spectrum of both bands. Numerical analysis results demonstrate that the 75% value of the cumulative distribution function (CDF) for localization error was significantly reduced to 0.15 m with the proposed method, compared to 2.10 m for the 2.4 GHz band and 1.50 m for the 5 GHz band. These results confirm the effectiveness of high-accuracy localization that leverages the advantages of both frequency bands.
