Millimeter-wave (mmWave) spectrum is a promising candidate for Beyond 5G systems to achieve higher data rates and larger capacity. This paper investigates mmWave distributed MIMO for backhaul links to high-mobility platforms such as cars and trains. In high-mobility scenarios, antenna switching can cause rapid changes in Doppler shift and propagation delay, which may degrade link performance when frequency and timing are compensated only at the terminal. To address this issue in a realistic multi-terminal environment, we extend a user-centric control scheme in which the base station pre-compensates the transmit frequency and timing so that each terminal observes nearly constant received frequency and timing. We evaluate the downlink performance using a 40-GHz-band distributed MIMO prototype in a field experiment where two vehicles equipped with terminals travel in opposite directions at 60 km/h.
