In recent years, private mobile networks (PMNs), which provide dedicated networks in local environments, have attracted considerable attention from the perspective of information security. In PMNs, communication and application tasks are expected to be executed within local environments. Furthermore, the virtualization of base station functions enables these tasks to be executed on the same general-purpose servers, allowing flexible task placement within a PMN. Since server loads can be adjusted according to task placement, a reduction in server power consumption can be expected. In this study, we analyze the impact of task placement on the power consumption in a PMN. The analysis results demonstrate that task placement control according to workload conditions is important for reducing the power consumption in PMNs.
