In the 5G core network, the NRF manages NF registration and discovery, while an NRF Set enables cooperative operation of multiple NRFs. During multi-vendor deployments or rolling updates, NRFs with different releases or feature sets may coexist, and a receiving NRF may be unable to process a request. The behaviour under this scenario is not clearly defined, and vendor-specific handling may affect request continuity and interoperability. We proposes a procedure that steers an NF-NRF request with unsupported features to a capable NRF in the same NRF Set. Each NRF refers to shared context information storing per-NRF feature capabilities and destination information. The receiving NRF checks required-features, supported-features, access token scope, and similar information to determine whether it can process the request. If unsupported, it selects a capable NRF from the shared context without querying other NRFs. Processing continues using existing Intermediate processing: forwarding or redirection. And an error response is returned if no capable NRF exists. This scheme preserves request semantics while reducing extra signaling and latency.
