In recent years, quantum technology has made remarkable progress in fields such as quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum sensing. From the 2040s onward, these quantum technologies are expected to be implemented in society as part of information processing and communication infrastructures, and their adoption is anticipated to advance in the mobility sector, including automobiles. Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. is working to advance quantum technologies based on semiconductor materials and devices, promoting research from the perspectives of miniaturization, high reliability, and integration toward practical implementation. In this presentation, as specific research examples based on this awareness of issues, we highlight our initiatives in quantum sensors, integrated optical quantum devices, and qubit control applying communication signal processing, thereby introducing our quantum device research aimed at mobility applications.
