In the D-band (110-170 GHz), which is expected for high-speed and high-capacity next-generation wireless systems, phased array technology is useful to overcome spatial loss. However, wideband and highly-accurate phase control is needed, making low-error a 90-degree coupler is necessary for parts like vector sum phase shifters. Therefore, this paper proposes a 90-degree coupler with a metal-layer termination resistor. Consequently, it achieves highly accurate equal division and a 90-degree phase difference with zero power consumption, showing a maximum gain difference of 0.33 dB and a maximum phase error of 0.83°.
