Microstrip (MS) lines are widely used in high-frequency circuits due to their simple structures and low cost. In MS lines, the characteristic impedance is controlled by the line width. However, because shunt stubs with low characteristic impedance require wider lines, parasitic effects occurring at the junction between the stub and the transmission line significantly affect circuit characteristics. This necessitates the readjustment of circuit parameters obtained from conventional synthesis theory, which does not account for the effects of the junction. In this paper, we propose a new connection method utilizing a high-impedance short line and compare it with the conventional direct connection method.
