A Near-Field Transducer (NFT) is indispensable for the realization of Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) as a next-generation high-density HDD technology, and evaluating the internal temperature transient response of the transducer is critical. The authors have previously investigated an electromagnetic-thermal coupled analysis method using the Auxiliary Differential Equation-FDTD (ADE-FDTD) method and the explicit finite difference method; however, reducing analysis time due to increasing computational costs has been a challenge. In this report, we investigate the acceleration of calculations by increasing the thermal update interval after the electromagnetic field reaches a steady state and optimizing computational processing, and subsequently verify its accuracy.
