In millimeter-wave and higher frequency bands, waveguide connections have traditionally relied on flange structures, as these applications mainly involve high‑precision measurement and observation where connection reliability is critical. In contrast, we have been working toward miniaturizing and reducing the weight of waveguide connections by studying the standardization of interfaces as an alternative to flanges, along with methods for evaluating their connection performance.
In this study, we examined and established an evaluation method suitable for connector interfaces used in flexible waveguides with braided outer conductors.
We will further refine this method as a draft for standardization, positioning it as a foundation for promoting standardization in accordance with future market trends.
