In recent years, LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite networks have garnered attention as a means to achieve wide-area, low-latency communication. However, due to uplink capacity constraints, distributing content from a ground station via satellites often results in increased delivery latency. Caching content directly on the satellites offers an effective solution to this issue. By leveraging satellite caching, it is possible to reduce the frequency of access to the ground network and deliver content to users more rapidly.

This paper proposes a satellite selection method that takes cache status into account, aiming to enhance content delivery performance in LEO satellite networks. The proposed method determines the connection satellite by considering not only the communication availability between user terminals and satellites but also whether the requested content is cached on the satellites. Through this approach, the method seeks to improve the cache hit rate and reduce reliance on ground-based communication, thereby realizing efficient and stable content delivery within LEO satellite networks.
