About the Select Lectures
The Select Lectures are a special selection track we created to foster bold, forward‑looking discussion in oleo science.
This track highlights research with transformative potential and ensures an exceptionally distinguished group of lectures — the Select Lectures.
Winners for this track will be invited to Hakodate WCOS 2027 to deliver an official award lecture and will receive the Award of the JOCS’s Selected Lecture. This award is conferred to formally acknowledge and honor the work selected by JOCS.
In addition to the Select Lectures, general oral presentations will be accepted from August 1, 2026 to February 28, 2027.
Submission
Applicants for the Select Lectures of WCOS 2027 are invited to submit an abstract of their lecture. Please prepare a three‑page abstract, including your biographical information, using the designated Select Lectures Abstract Template and send the PDF file by email to:

(please do not add “.” at the end).
Congress Themes
Presentation topics should be aligned with the following congress themes:
- Oils, Fats, and Lipids Science: Advanced analytics, oxidation stability, nutritional functionality, health impact
- Biotechnology: Innovations in processing, functional edible applications, industrial technologies
- Oleo Materials and Nanotechnologies: Functional and smart materials, sustainable polymer technologies, innovative food products, advanced cosmetics and biomedical applications
- Colloid and Interface Science: Smart dispersion systems, interfacial phenomena in soft matter, advanced cleaning technologies, next-generation colloid systems for detergents, cosmetics, and food applications
Award of the JOCS’s Selected Lecture – Career Advancement Benefits
Recipients of the Award will receive three comprehensive benefits designed to support their career development:
- Visible (International Recognition): Complimentary invitation to the WCOS international congress (banquet fee not included), participation in the official award ceremony, and the opportunity to deliver a 20‑minute award lecture followed by a 5‑minute discussion—a prestigious chance to gain global visibility. Note: The award lecture is a privilege granted to awardees. If the lecture is not delivered, the award and its benefits will be withdrawn.
- Cited (Research Dissemination): Awardees are granted the right to publish their paper free of charge in the Journal of Oleo Science. This publication is optional and does not affect the award status. Papers will be indexed in DOAJ and available in XML full-text format, ensuring worldwide accessibility and citation.
- Empowered (Research Funding): A research grant of ¥100,000 will be awarded to accelerate the recipient’s next project.
