1. Organizer Introduction
Opening Introduction: Building a Gateway to Global Cognitive Science through JCSS

(Abstract) This introduction presents the purpose and structure of the JCSS 2026 International Organized Session. Building on the CogSci Asia-Pacific Meetup Kickoff held in 2025, the session creates a continuing interface between cognitive science communities in Japan and abroad. Conducted entirely in English, it provides international researchers and students based in Japan with a venue to present and discuss their work, while also offering Japanese researchers opportunities for English-language exchange. We outline the background of the initiative, introduce the four presentations, and identify practical directions for sustaining international participation, networking, and collaboration within the Japanese Cognitive Science Society.
