Low-cycle fatigue of Inconel 718 with solution-annealed and standard heat-treated microstructures was investigated. SHT showed continuous cyclic softening, whereas SA exhibited initial hardening followed by stabilization. Crystal plasticity modeling explained the evolution of backstress and effective stress.
