中緯度域の海洋・大気現象に関連した，メソスケール現象から海盆規模の現象、数日規模変動や季節変動から温暖化などの長期変動にいたるまでの幅広い時間・空間スケールの研究成果を持ち寄り議論することで，更なる中緯度大気海洋相互作用系の理解を深めることを目指す．また今後の発展や展開を見据えるために、雲やエアロゾル、生態系の観点からの発表を歓迎する。
