Maki Sugimoto (Innovation Lab, Teikyo University Okinaga Research Institute)
Maki Sugimoto, MD, PhD, is a hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgeon and Professor at the Innovation Lab, Teikyo University Okinaga Research Institute. He is also CEO and Co-Founder of Holoeyes Inc., a MedTech startup that specializes in XR-based surgical visualization and education tools. Dr. Sugimoto earned his MD from Teikyo University School of Medicine in 1996 and has held senior surgical and academic posts at multiple Japanese institutions.
His research and clinical focus integrates spatial computing, medical image analysis, and extended reality for enhancing surgical safety, training, and global collaboration.
