Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide and the most lethal single infectious agent until coronavirus. To end global TB epidemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) proposed several goals including reducing TB incidence by 90% by 2035 compared with 2015 baseline. Can this target for controlling the spread of TB be achieved by 2035? Therefore, we take tuberculosis in Jiangsu Province as a case study and develop a non-autonomous dynamic system to study the transmission characteristics of tuberculosis. Simultaneously, we provide the optimal control strategy to achieve the goal of WHO by 2035.
