The linear correlation between the local misorientation and plastic strain has been utilized to estimate amount of plastic strain in various materials. In many cases, the plastic stain was induced by uniaxial tensile or compressive load. However, in the actual situation in the nuclear power plant components, the plastic strain induced by external loads or welding cannot be categorized in uniaxial. In this study, the plastic strain was induced by equi-biaxial stress using cruciform specimens made of stainless steel. It was shown that the relationship between the magnitude of induced plastic strain and the misorientation was close to that obtained using the uniaxial tensile specimen.
