[1L08] Chemical compatibility of tungsten in liquid metal tin

The heat flux on the divertor surface of fusion reactors is expected to be increased when the thermal output of fusion reactors is increased to improve their economic performance. The current study proposes a hybrid diverter in which the surface of tungsten structure is covered by the film flow of liquid metal tin. However, the information on the corrosion resistance of tungsten in liquid tin is still limited. The purpose of the present study is to clarify the corrosion resistance of tungsten in liquid metal tin. The results of corrosion tests at 773 K up to 1000 h are going to be presented.
