Er2O3 emits luminescence with red and green peaks under UV light, and their peak intensity ratio depends on the crystallinity and temperature. We are considering applying these optical properties for monitoring of irradiation damages and temperatures of materials in a fusion reactor. However, Cherenkov light will be generated inside the optical fiber for transmitting light due to the gamma rays in the reactor, which will disturb the emission measurement. Therefore, to perform optical measurements appropriately under gamma rays, we are proposing to apply Er2O3-doped Y2O3 materials to reduce influence of concentration quenching and improve the emission intensity. We will report the results evaluating the temperature and crystallinity dependence of the emission spectrum in these materials.
