[1O_PL02]Probabilistic Risk Assessment of Radiation Exposure Risk Considering Shadow Evacuation

*Kazumasa Shimada1 (1. JANUS)
In the event of a nuclear emergency involving the release of radioactive materials into the environment, protective measures such as sheltering, evacuation, and administration of stable iodine tablets are implemented to avoid severe deterministic effects of radiation on residents near nuclear facilities and to reduce the risk of stochastic effects. In this session, we will share the latest scientific findings on the effectiveness of sheltering and evacuation, as well as factors influencing their effectiveness. Additionally, we will discuss challenges associated with these protective measures based on the experiences from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident and the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
