For a non-neutron multiplication system with 252Cf spontaneous fission sources, we derive a theoretical formula for the probability generating function that takes into account higher-order mode components based on α-eigenfunction expansion. Based on the derived formula, we can confirm that the typical reactor noise anlysis method (e.g., Feynman-α method) can be applied even for a non-neutron multiplication system.
