Solidification treatment by filling cementitious material is applied to low-levelradioactive waste such as metals and concrete. In addition, the solidification treatment of dehydrated carbonate slurry using cement, AAM, etc., is being considered for decommissioning the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. However, in the treatment, there is a problem in that air remains inside or between waste materials after the filling material is added, increasing the porosity of the solidified waste and degrading the performance of the waste. This presentation reports, based on X-ray CT observationresults of solidified samples, that the porosity of the waste is drastically reduced using anew method for which a patent application is currently pending.
