Waste packages must meet the waste acceptance criteria (WAC) set by the landfill site. To determine the solidification conditions that can satisfy these WAC and to dispose of the concentrated waste liquid generated in Fugen as waste packages for landfill disposal, it is necessary to determine the cement-to-waste liquid ratio (C/W), which greatly affects the uniaxial compressive strength, one of the WAC items. Cold beaker-scale tests have been conducted using simulated waste liquid, and based on the results, the C/W was set to approximately 1.38 or higher. This presentation reports on hot beaker-scale tests conducted to confirm the applicability of these solidification conditions to actual radioactive waste liquid.
