これまで、医療の標準化やスタッフ教育のツールとしてマンツーマン指導、プレゼンテーション講義やマニュアルなどによって、新しいスタッフに伝えれ教育されてきた。医療現場でのon-jobトレーニングは処置等に集中しなくてはならず、急変時などは特に緊迫感もあり、教育のための人員確保ができない中ではリアルタイムでのスタッフ教育は難しい。また、活字での教育は具体的イメージを伝えるのは難しく、理解度も低くなる。技術の習得は体験することが最も習得度が高くなるが、医療現場ではある一定の理解をした上で処置が滞ることのないようにするべきであり、教育的体験は医療安全上避けるべきである。そこで、あたかも処置の中心に自身がいるかのように視覚化できるVR（Virtual Reality）が医療現場の教育ツールで利用することができないか今開発が進んできている。このセッションでは医療現場での教育ツールとしてVRの可能性についてディスカッションする。
