【ハイライト講演】開催地・金沢に近い富山県八尾地域には，約1700万年前の日本海拡大期の大規模な火山活動が記録されている．本招待講演では，溶岩や火山灰，河川堆積物などの詳細な岩相・堆積相解析に，年代や化学組成の研究成果を組み合わせ，短期間に大量の安山岩質溶岩が広がる「洪水安山岩」様の火山活動により溶岩台地が形成された可能性を示す．地域地質から日本列島規模の変動を読み解く注目の発表である． ※ハイライト講演とは．．．
