Guidelines for Workshop and Symposium Proposals


The Organizing Committee invites proposals for symposia and workshops to be held during the meeting. The allotted time per theme is planned to be 2 hours and 30 minutes for a symposium and 1 hour and 45 minutes for a workshop (subject to change). We warmly welcome attractive proposals from across the community. Those who wish to organize a symposium or workshop are requested to submit an application in accordance with the guidelines below.

How to apply

Please submit a 1–2 page A4 document including the following information:

1.    Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the organizer(s)

(The organizer must be a member of the Genetics Society of Japan.)

2.    Theme/title (in both Japanese and English)

3.    Overview of the theme

(Approximately 80 words in English or 200 Japanese characters.)

4.    Number of presentations, presentation time, and language

(Time allocation is at the organizer’s discretion; please ensure sufficient time for discussion.)

5.    Name(s) and affiliation(s) of proposed speaker(s)

(If presentation titles have been decided, please provide them in both Japanese and English.)

Notes

•    The organizer must be a member of the Genetics Society of Japan; speakers are not necessarily required to be members.

•    The number of available slots for symposia and workshops is limited. Selection will be at the discretion of the Organizing Committee.

•    We also welcome proposals for named or endorsed sessions (e.g., under Transformative Research Areas and similar programs). Please feel free to apply.
