Family Care Support

The Genetics Society of Japan (GSJ) provides support for members who have childcare, nursing care, caregiving, or related responsibilities and wish to participate in the annual meeting.
Financial support of up to JPY 50,000 per applicant is available.
Members on childcare leave or caregiving leave are also eligible to apply.

Amount of Support

Actual expenses up to JPY 50,000 per application.
The total budget is expected to be approximately JPY 150,000.

Eligibility

Members of the Genetics Society of Japan who wish to attend the meeting and have childcare, caregiving, or related responsibilities.
There are no restrictions regarding gender, age, or whether the applicant will give a presentation.
Applicants on childcare leave or caregiving leave are also eligible.

Application Procedure

Complete the “Meeting Participation Support Application Form (PDF or Word format)” and submit it by email attachment to the GSJ Office.

 Application Period

June 23 – July 31 (must arrive by July 31)

 Review and Notification

Applications will be reviewed by the GSJ Executive Committee.
Applicants will be notified of the results by the GSJ Office.

 Payment of Support

The support will be transferred at a later date.

 Recipient Responsibilities

Recipients are required to submit a “Meeting Participation Report (PDF or Word format)” to the GSJ Office after the meeting.

Student Travel Support

To encourage student participation, partial travel support (reimbursement of transportation expenses) will be provided to student members who give an oral presentation.

Applicants who receive travel support from their laboratory, institution, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), or other funding sources are not eligible for this program.

Eligibility

Applicants must be student members of the Society, give an oral presentation, and attend the meeting throughout the entire conference period.

Application Procedure

Each applicant must complete the Student Member Travel Support Application Form (PDF or Word format) and submit it as an email attachment to the Secretariat of the Genetics Society of Japan. 

Application Period

From the release of the Student Member Travel Support Application Form 26th June (Fri) to Friday, 31st July (Fri). Applications must arrive by the deadline.
