In groundwater dating using sulfur hexafluoride, the evaluation of Excess air is the main factor controlling the reliability of groundwater age. Previous studies suggest that most of the groundwater in Japan contains Excess air. However, little is known about the temporal variation of Excess air and its impact for SF6 age. In this study, monthly sampling were conducted from springs, flowing wells, and river water in the Ogaki artesian zone, and the dissolved nitrogen concentration, dissolved argon concentration, SF6 concentration, water chemistry, and stable isotope ratio were analyzed. In this presentation, based on these analytical values, we plan to report on the behavior and formation process of Excess Air and its impact on the reliability of the SF6 age.
