In 2024, the Noto Peninsula earthquake caused significant damage to our hazardous materials facility. Liquefaction led to the flotation of pipe culvert, and as a result, the pipes themselves deformed.The culverts, not being our property, are expected to require extensive time for restoration, raising concerns about delays in our facility’s recovery.To resume operations promptly, we considered reusing the deformed pipes after implementing temporary emergency measures.We conducted pipe simulation evaluations to ensure integrity, assuming the pipes would withstand another earthquake in their deformed state before full restoration.This report elaborates on the considerations for the interim resumption of use until complete recovery.
