CDU unit consumes a lot of fuel and emits a large amount of CO2. In long-term continuous operation, preheating efficiency decreases due to crude oil preheating exchanger fouling, resulting in large energy loss. In this presentation, we will clarify the problems in heat exchanger U value calculation and present solutions for these problems. We also present a new fouling index using the "EXCEL add-in function HEAT", and propose an efficient FS to evaluate the return on investment of online cleaning. The results of trial calculations of benefit potential are also shown.
