CO2 hydrogenation to hydrocarbons using green hydrogen and catalysts has been attracting attention to reduce CO2 emissions and recycle carbon resources. Since the application of hydrocarbons depends on the presence of unsaturated bonds as well as the carbon chain length, it is important to control the selectivity of hydrocarbons from the viewpoint of future social development. In this study, the selectivity switch between light olefin and paraffin was succeeded by controlling the morphology of the interface between Fe–Mn mixed oxide and metallic Pt supported on Al2O3, utilizing the effect of hydrogen spillover.
