Solvothermal reaction was performed at 200℃ using H-zeolite catalysts of various structures in ethanol solvent for cellulose conversion. Main products were 5-HMF(5-hydroxymethylfurfural) or levulinic acid and products selective differed by the structure of the zeolite catalyst. When H-FER zeolite was used, about 40 C-% 5-HMF was obtained as the main product, on the other hand, when BEA zeolite was used, about 40 C-% levulinic acid was obtained as the main product.
