N-Heterocyclic carbene (NHC) are known to play an essential role as ligands in metal complex catalysts, and the ligand stabilizes high oxidation state organometallic complexes with early transition metals. In this study, we thus focus on the synthesis of (arylimido)niobium(V)-alkylidene NHC complexes containing perfluorinated alkoxide and perhalogenated phenoxide ligands, which exhibit remarkable potential as the catalysts in the ROMP of cyclic olefins. Detailed results will be introduced in the symposium.
