Chemical recycling, one of the methods for plastic recycling, aims to efficiently obtain petrochemical feedstocks from waste plastics. To improve fluidity and remove impurities, waste plastics were dissolved in hydrocarbon solvents and subjected to catalytic degradation. Zeolite Beta was used as the catalyst, and four types of hydrocarbon solvents were evaluated. The solvent was selected based on the comparison of plastic conversion and products under each condition. Additionally, the effect of varying the amount of plastic was examined to establish reaction conditions that could serve as a basis for optimizing catalyst synthesis conditions in the future.
