In the Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) process, butene oligomerization is a key reaction for producing jet fuel–range hydrocarbons (C8–C16). In this study, Ni-based catalysts and solid acid catalysts, such as amorphous silica–alumina, were employed to investigate the reaction characteristics of butene oligomerization and the synergistic effects between the two catalysts. The results identified effective Ni active species and acid sites and demonstrated that the yield of jet fuel–range products was enhanced at a low temperature.
